Big congrats to Si Gou, for winning the Outstanding Student Paper Award for her poster at the AGU meeting last week, entitled “Simulating Groundwater-Plant-Atmosphere Interactions in a Semiarid Savanna.” The award is given to the top 3-5% of student presentations.
Groundwater Sustainability
Miller, Gou, and Cohen present at AGU
Wrapping up another successful AGU Fall Meeting. Si presented her poster on "Simulating Groundwater-Plant-Atmosphere Interactions in a Semiarid Savanna," REU alumni Leland Cohen presented his titled "Hydrogeologic Processes in a Transitional Tropical Forest," and Dr. Miller presented the results of her and Andrea’s stable isotope work in Costa Rica. Group mascot Graham Miller decided to […]
Paper on modeling groundwater uptake published
A groundwater-soil-plant-atmosphere continuum approach for modeling water stress, uptake, and hydraulic redistribution in phreatophytic vegetation," has been accepted for publication in the journal Ecohydrology.
Miller and Zhang present at EWRI meeting
Dr. Miller and Jingqiu Zhang presented the group’s work on reactive transport modeling at the annual congress of the ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Gou and DuMont receive awards from NGWA
Congratulations to Si Gou, who won the Farvolden Award at the 2013 National Ground Water Summit in San Antonio for her presentation "Understanding Groundwater Uptake by Phreatophytic Vegetation using a System Dynamics Modeling Approach." Also congratulations to Andrea DuMont, whose project "Isotopic Analysis to Determine Groundwater and Stream Water Interactions in a Tropical Forest Catchment" […]
Miller and Gou present at AGU
Si and I presented the results of our oak savanna modeling using PARFLOW.CLM at the Fall 2011 AGU meeting.
